A Business and Employment Co-operative is a SCOP (Société CO-opérative de Production), a particular type of company where:

Business associates own, at least, 51% of the capital;

Financial reserves remain in the BEC and are invested for its long-term future;

Every BEC entrepreneur is entitled to vote on decisions taken during the BEC’s Annual General Meetings.

The Coopérer pour Entreprendre (CpE) network in 2005 :

42 BECs in France and in Belgium;

5,710 potential projects received;

2,728 projects accepted for accompaniment;

1,990 salaried entrepreneurs;

16,423,000 € in annual turnover generated by BEC salaried entrepreneurs!
